That's what I told my first business coach when he tried to teach me about sales. I was young... ambitious... and...
I was afraid that I'd come off like a sleazy used car salesman if I asked anyone to buy my stuff. I was scared to "sell." I was scared they would say, "No."
Obviously I got over myself... but how did I do it?
Over the past XX years (let's just say that first coaching session was a long, long time ago in a city far, far away) I learned how to help my customer, rather than manipulate them. I learned how to talk to them with sincerity and integrity, rather than feel like I was trying to convince them to get something that wasn't already in their best interest.
I learned what "selling" is really all about!
